Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Establishment Harb Limited (Trading name: Harbsew). These terms and conditions govern the use of our services and the purchase of our products. By booking a service or making a purchase with us, you agree to the following terms.

2. Services Offered

We provide:

  • Sales of domestic and industrial sewing machines, industrial steam irons, spare parts, and accessories (hereafter collectively referred to as "machines" in this contract).

  • Repairs and servicing for domestic and industrial sewing machines and industrial steam irons.

3. Booking and Payment Terms

Booking Terms

  • Services can be booked through:

    • Our online booking forms.

    • Our website booking calendar.

    • Calling us directly.

    • Setting up an annual contract with us.​​

Payment Policies

  • Accepted payment methods: Card, bank transfer or cash.

  • Payments must be made by the date specified on the invoice provided.

​

Non-Payment Terms

  • In cases of non-payment, a fixed late fee of £40.00 will apply immediately after the invoice due date for invoices up to £999.99, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Additionally, a statutory interest charge of 13.25% per annum (8% plus the Bank of England base rate) will accrue daily on the overdue amount until full payment is received. To avoid any inconvenience, clients are encouraged to inform us prior to the issuance of an invoice if they have specific regulations or requirements regarding invoice payment. This allows us to set a due date that suits both parties. 4. Delivery of Services

Timelines for Repairs or Services

  • Typical repair or service timelines: 1 to 5 working days (subject to change based on repair complexity or parts availability).

Call-Out Services

  • Coverage area: London.

  • Additional charges may apply for:

    • Travel beyond London.

    • Parking fees.

    • Any other relevant expenses as applicable in the UK.

5. Returns, Refunds, and Cancellations

Repairs

  • Repairs are not guaranteed beyond the assurance that machines are tested and confirmed to be in working condition after servicing.

  • A 6-month guarantee is provided on new parts replaced during repairs.

Sales

  • Warranty:

    • A 1-year warranty applies to brand-new machines sold by us, provided:

      • No other company or individual has serviced or repaired the machine.

      • Proof of purchase is presented.

    • Returns:

      • Returns are accepted within 7 days of purchase if:

        • The machine has not been used (e.g., sewing machines have not been oiled or used, steam boilers have not had water added).

        • The box has not been opened or damaged.

        • Proof of purchase is available.

Cancellations

  • For in-store service repairs and call-out service repairs, appointments must be cancelled not less than 24 hours before the scheduled service date.

​

Call-Out Service Terms

  • Your appointment can be cancelled free of charge at least 48 hours before the scheduled booking time. If you wish to cancel after this period, a cancellation fee of £20.00 will apply.

6. Service and Repair Terms

Collection of Repaired Machines

  • Machines dropped off for service or repair at Establishment Harb Limited (HarbSew) premises must be collected within 15 days of us notifying you that the machine is repaired and ready for collection. If the machine is not collected within this time frame, an additional charge may apply for storage. We reserve the right to charge for storage if the machine remains uncollected beyond the 15-day period.

  • Please note that Establishment Harb Limited (Harbsew) accepts no responsibility for machines or their contents after the 15-day collection period, and any loss, damage, or deterioration occurring after this time will not be covered by us.

Loss of Additional Parts or Accessories

  • HarbSew requires that you bring the following parts and accessories with the machine for service or repair: foot pedal, additional electric cable (if applicable), presser foot (which should be attached to the machine), zigzag presser foot (if applicable), button stitch presser foot (if applicable), thread, bobbin case with the bobbin inside, needle, and manual book (if applicable). We do not require any other accessories or parts. HarbSew is not responsible for any loss, damage, or missing parts or accessories that are not listed above and brought with the machine.

 

7. Warranty and Liability

Warranty

  • No guarantee is provided on repairs except for parts replaced by us, which are covered under a 6-month warranty.

  • Warranties are void if:

    • Other companies or individuals have serviced, repaired, or changed parts on the machine.

Liability Limitations

  • We are not responsible for any consequential losses caused by delayed services or repairs.

​

8. Data Protection

  • Client information is used for:

    • Creating invoices.

    • Locating addresses for call-out services.

    • Phone numbers, email addresses, or other contact information are used solely for communication purposes related to bookings, repairs, services, or inquiries.

  • We comply with the UK GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and will not share your information without consent.

 

9. Health and Safety

Customers must inform engineers of:

  • The electrical plug associated with the machine being serviced.

  • Any sharp or unsafe items that could pose a risk during repairs.

  • When the steam iron was last used, whether it is still on or hot, and any visible leaks of hot water or steam.

  • If the electrical plugs of the machines have passed the Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). If this test has not been conducted, we do not take responsibility for any electrical faults.

  • Any safety risks related to call-out services at their location.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

 

 

11. Changes to Terms

Establishment Harb Limited reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

We offer the best service and repair for all types and brands of sewing machines

(Domestic and industrial sewing machines - Overlockers - Hemming machines and many more).

  • Wednesday: Closed
    (Call-out appointments only). The shop may occasionally be open if no call-outs are scheduled, but please call first to confirm. â€‹

  • Friday: 10:00 - 18:00​

​

  • Saturday: 10:00 - 14:00​

  • Sunday: Closed
